The joinery methods discussed are mock finger joints, bare-faced housing joints and dowel pin hinges. The joints come together to form a box made for recreation rooms, coupling classic joints with rich woods to create a robust container. The box was designed for a wide demographic, through age and culture. Its use was aimed to be a container for card decks, dice, and other small game pieces that need a communal storage area. The box lid is oriented in the most stable and accessible manner for the user to store and retrieve contents. The lid is accessible through a “mouse hole” notch through the front wall [opposite the lid hinge] where the user uses their finger or thumb to lift the lid about the hinge. There are stoppers inside the box to prevent the lid from caving into the storage space inside the box; these are made form dowel and are not long enough to hurt a hand that might brush against it. The top of the box is flat, to allow it to be stacked upon, if needed.
